Public Relations is about empathy

Whatever little I have achieved in the last 20 years of Public Relations consulting is mainly because of a factor called ‘empathy’. I am a practitioner of empathy and compassion.
Public Relations is all about building relationships with key stakeholders, such as the media, customers, employees, and investors. In order to build strong relationships, it is important to be empathetic and understand the needs and concerns of these stakeholders.
Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another person. When public relations professionals are empathetic, they are able to put themselves in the shoes of their stakeholders and see things from their perspective. This allows them to communicate more effectively and build stronger relationships.
There are many ways to show empathy in public relations. For example, a public relations professional can:
# Listen to the concerns of the stakeholders. This means taking the time to hear what they have to say and understand their point of view.
# Acknowledge the feelings of the stakeholders. This means letting them know that you understand how they are feeling and that you care about their concerns.
# Be respectful of the needs of the stakeholders. This means taking their needs into account when making decisions and communicating with them.
When public relations professionals are empathetic, they are more likely to build strong relationships with the stakeholders. These relationships can be invaluable in helping an organization achieve its goals.
Empathy is a powerful tool that can be used to build strong relationships and achieve positive outcomes in public relations.

14th Feb 2011: Do not buy Petrol !!!

I am getting this kind of mails from many of my friends across India.

Before you read this I have an important point to suggest:

In my opinion, all the literate people having so called logical thinking will end up buying enough petrol on 12th and 13th February.

Think again and I propose a different line alltogether.

On 14th February, try and avoid driving any petrol/ diesel run vehicle.

Here is the mail that is interesting and the suggestion is something doable

Shishir

Dear Friends!

Petrol in Pakistan Rs 17 per litre
Malaysia Rs 18 per litre
In India it's Rs.65per litre

Why is there a difference within India itself? World Market CRUDE Oil is not the reason for this. It's all Gain for private owners? As we are the general public, or Common Man as R.K.Laxman wouldd have said, we have to raise our voice, let's raise thru Emails.

Forward this to all Indians who care

It has been calculated that if everyone did not purchase a drop of petrol for one day and all at the same time, the oil companies would choke on their stockpiles.

At the same time it would hit the entire industry with a net loss over 4.6 billion dollars which affects the bottom lines of the oil companies.

Therefore "feb.14 th" has been formally declared "stick it up their behind " day and the people of this nation should not buy a single drop of petrol that day.

The only way this can be done is if you forward this e-mail to as many people as you can and as quickly as you can to get the word out. Waiting on the government to step in and control the prices is not going to happen. What happened to the reduction and control
in prices that the arab nations promised two weeks ago?

Remember one thing, not only is the price of petrol going up but at the same time airlines are forced to raise their prices, trucking companies are forced to raise their prices which affects prices on everything that is shipped. Things like food, clothing, building supplies medical supplies etc. Who pays in the end? We do!

We can make a difference. If they don't get the message after one day, we will do it again and again. So do your part and spread the word. Forward this email to everyone you know. Mark your calendars and make* * *Feb.* 14 th A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

We forward so many junk email to many of our friends, now let us do it for some useful cause to cut down the price of the petrol .. .... REMEMBER : *Feb * 14th

Dashanan viewing

Hi All,
Dashahara was a real fun yesterday!
I took Tanmay, Tanvi along with Neetu to see the effigies and could see a similar kind of excitement and memorisation with those tall and scary structures, that I used to have in my early childhood.
Tanvi was so happy that rest of the day, she kept telling - "पापा!! हमने आज पाँच रावण देखे, एक तिलक नगर का, छावनी का, एक जी पी ओ का, एक इन्द्रपुरी का और एक अपने कैम्पस का।"
Believe me, her eyes were so much glowing while describing all this that I forgot all my exhaustion, that I had in the bright sunny afternoon, because of riding my bike.
I have been confirming this thing time and again that the best gift a parent can give to the children is unshared quality time.
My Vijayadashmi resolution is that I will read and write more than usually I do....
Chalo!!! Happy Vijayadashmi to all of you....

Quick Temper and Acid Language

I had a big fight on my mail Id today.

A written word is very risky, even if it is a truth,

Once again it proved that it is not only important to work up to the mark, but it is also important that you do not loose your temper.

A property dealer's murder; another young death of over ambition

Yawal Somani was not my brother. May be a long distance cousin, because his surname is also Somani. He was around 40. I always used to get surprised by his attitude. I am sure, it was because of extra money that his family had. He was one with a wonderful smile. I had seen him in his college days, laughing loudly on jokes, as he was my elder brother's tuition student.
Yawal was young, he was ambitious, had a lot of potential and he was murdered just because of a dispute in one plot deal. I really don't know, how to react to it... I am definitely calling it the death of another over ambitious young entrepreneur.

Viral fever around me...

We are 10 and 5 out of these 10 are suffereing from fever. Its not a good situation, specially, when out of these 5 virally suffering stock, 4 have to leave for their trip to Mumbai-Milwaukee.

So the scene is actually not good
